How long does a refinance usually take from start to finish?

Adam Answers

Adam answers in October's edition.

QUESTION: How long does a refinance usually take from start to finish? Is there any way to expedite?

ANSWER: Typically, once a complete application package is received by AOPA Aviation Finance, approvals can be completed within 1-2 days. Once approved, closing typically averages 4-5 days. Closing on refis still require loan documents to be mailed back and forth between you and the lender.  If you have hard dates make sure to let us know up front, and we will expedite as quickly as possible.

QUESTION: I just paid cash for a C182.  I would like to finance it so I can do some upgrades.  Will Banks do that?

ANSWER: Yes, we have several different options depending on the financing amount and types of upgrades you are planning. Lenders will consider the equity based on the upgraded aircraft in determining how much they can finance. We also offer a Flexible Aviation Loan if you do not wish to put the aircraft up as collateral. Please give us a call and one of our account executives will be happy to help you determine which option best fits your situation.
