Question: I read your article from September 2020. Are there still options available for kit airplane financing? Specifically, Van’s aircraft.

Answer: Great question, as options for kits have definitely changed over the years.  At this time, aircraft lenders will require that the aircraft be airworthy prior to releasing loan proceeds. If you have another source of financing for the kit, there will be an option to refinance once the aircraft is airworthy. Once the aircraft is airworthy, we are seeing rates as low as 6.74% for Van’s aircraft specifically.  Please give us a call if you would like to discuss your situation in more detail, 800.627.5263.
